Duties

You will install, repair, maintain troubleshoot, test and load new and existing electrical lines, circuits, systems, and associated fixtures, controls, and equipment. You will connect wires to circuit breakers, transformers, or other components. You will utilize safety practices and procedures following established safety rules and regulations and maintains a safe and clean work environment. You will develop patterns and lay out, cut, form, join, assemble and install items with combined straight and curved edges ore irregular angles, planes and curves. You will weld a variety of metals and alloys.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States drivers license.

  • You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • Have a valid Environmental Protection Agency Universal Certification for working with all types of refrigerants at high and low pressures.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.
  • You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
  • This position is considered Key/Emergency-Essential. You will be required to provide immediate and continuing support to ensure the success of combat operations or the availability of combat-essential systems.

Qualifications

Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the WG-10 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies related to following; 1) Installs, repairs, maintains, troubleshoots, tests, and loads new and existing electrical lines, circuits, HVAC systems, and associated fixtures, controls, and equipment; 2) Works from building plans, blueprints, wiring diagrams and engineering drawings to plan and lay out the routing, type, size, gauge, etc., of electrical lines which support industrial operations; 3) Install air conditioning direct expansion and chilled-water systems, test systems for proper functioning and review and adjust system controls using Direct Digital Control (DDC) computer system; 4) Selects and set up welding equipment and ensure welds meet standards and engineering design drawings and specifications.
