You will serve as a UTILITIES SUPERVISOR in the PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT of NAVFAC SOUTHWEST.

Duties

You will assign maintenance work to employees and instruct on work requirements, methods, and procedures. You will review maintenance and operation plans and specifications for adequacy, feasibility, and conformance with operational policies. You will evaluate work operations, completed work, and inspection reports to meet all trade standards. You will provide assistance in the development of the operational budget and will be responsible to deliver the product line commodities within the prescribed budget.

• You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
• This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
• This position is entitled to a remote site-offshore allowance up to $10.00 a day and may not to exceed $10.00 a day in addition to pay otherwise due to the employee. (See 5 U.S.C. 5942 and 5 C.F.R. 591 Subpart C)
• This is an obligated position. The former incumbent has return rights to this position under PL 86-585.

Qualifications

The Screen-out Element for this position is: 1) Determining the cause of malfunctions and making repairs to potable water systems, wastewater treatment, and collection operations; 2) Coordinating maintenance, inspections, overhauls and services to ensure that downtime is kept to a minimum; and 3) Utilizing Working Capital Fund accounting pertaining to service/construction operations, production management and material procurement; and 4) Leading in the maintenance and repair of electrical power generation and the distribution of electricity (i.e, transformers, switchgear, breakers, vacuum switches, overhead and underground conductors).
