This position is located within the Veteran Transportation Service at the Anchorage VA Medical Center in Anchorage, AK.
Duties

Duties may include, but are not limited to the following:
Collects, compiles, and tracks data and statistical information in support of Veterans Transportation Service (VTS).
Performs basic analysis of data and generates a variety of reports.
Maintains automated system of program specific data to track items such as, service project milestones, progress reports, clinic trends, program trends, performance measures, compliance strategies, etc.
Coordinates service practices that decrease waits and delays for patients in all medical and specialty areas.
Plans consult processing flow to ensure veterans receive consultant services in a timely manner.
Supports Beneficiary travel analytic reports and tool to ensure compliance, processing and monitors to maximize the integrity of the program and defray fraud.
Assists the supervisory transportation coordinator in planning and directing programs that provide VTS support services functions.
Plans and provides support services in the following areas; electronic records management, driver scheduling setup and management of program, space utilization services;
Advises veterans of eligibility for Beneficiary Travel reimbursement to include reimbursement rates, deductible waivers, financial eligibility, etc.
Processes patient travel couch claims and ensures the appropriate travel benefits are applied; and
Performs other duties as assigned.
Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00am-4:30pm

Qualifications
TO QUALIFY FOR THIS POSITION AT THE GS-06 LEVEL YOU MUST MEET THE FOLLOWING CRITERIA:
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Have one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level (GS-05) that equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSA's) to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled? Qualifying examples of specialized experience includes: performing transportation support duties such as coordinating connections/scheduling; documenting travel information; entering data into automated tracking databases and generating reports; and performing clerical support responsibilities. NOTE: Your resume must show complete information for each job entry, such as beginning and ending dates of employment, duties performed, and/or total hours worked per week.

IMPORTANT: A full year of work is considered to be 35-40 hours of work per week. All experience listed on your resume must include the month and year start/end dates. Physical Requirements: Will be exposed to stressful working situations that require a professional attitude and collective reasoning. The position is subject to a high volume of work, the need for accuracy, frequency of interruptions and ever changing demands due to program changes.
