You will serve as a MAIL AND FILE CLERK (OA) in the Supply Division, Code 346100 of NAVAL RESEARCH LABORATORY.
Duties
You will maintain a logbook and receipt file to account for material receive and dispatched.
You will demonstrate knowledge of security regulations required in receipt, care, and handling of classified materials.
You will Inputs information into the computer system on all registered, certified, insured, and express mail received to establish tracking and
control.
You will Ensures that all classified material is placed in folders with appropriate coversheets and protected from compromise.
You will maintain a list of authorized classified material control points.
You will Follows up on tracer actions received from other agencies.
You will receive, opens, and reviews incoming unclassified non-sensitive and confidential first-class mail addressed to NRL or the Commanding Officer, and determines on content, originator, and/or action required.
Requirements
- Must be a US Citizen.
- Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
- Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
- You will be required to lift material between 15-45 pounds.
- This position requires the ability to type at least 40 words per minute. Your response to the typing skill question on the Occupational Questionnaire will be used in your qualification determination.
