The employee serves as an Education Technician for the Department of Veterans Affairs within the Office of the Chief Learning Officer. These positions are within The Institute for Learning, Education and Development (ILEAD) provides training solutions and services to support the VA's high-performing workforce throughout their career life cycle. located in the VA in St. Louis, MO.
Duties

Duties include but may not be limited to:
Prepares handouts, presentation and course syllabi from materials provided by faculty presenters or lecturers.
Collaborates with all services and projects supported to track employee registrations.
Obtains audiovisual requirements from presenters for courses and coordinates acquisition.
Collects, compiles, and/or tracks data and project information related to education.
Works collaboratively with project managers or learning consultant to develop and establish minimum standards by which education program/projects will be evaluated.
Obtains audiovisual requirements from presenters for courses and coordinates acquisition as necessary.
Maintains training records, schedules classes and processing continuing education certification requests to multiple professional accrediting bodies.
Assists with locating internal and external sources of training, ascertains that employees meet course pre-requisites, etc.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday - 8:00AM - 4:30PM

Qualifications
To qualify for this position at the GS-06 level, you must meet one of the following:
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Requires one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-05 grade level in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the Federal government/organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include collection, compilation, research, and/or tracking of data; perform work in direct support of an employee education system, establish and maintain training needs, schedule classes and processing education certification requests, prepare handouts, presentations and course syllabi, apply analytical and evaluative techniques to support training initiatives or programs, utilizing office automation systems and computer applications such as Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and electronic mail; preparing handouts and presentations; and creating and making oral presentations to small groups. IMPORTANT: A full year of work is considered to be 35-40 hours of work per week. All experience listed on your resume must include the month and year start/end dates. Physical Requirements: The work will occasionally involve long periods of repetitive actions (such as collating/stuffing/packing), standing for long periods of time, keyboarding, lifting boxes of supplies or education materials (up to 40 pounds), loading and moving small handcarts, and traveling through airports with personal luggage and a laptop computer. A motor vehicle operator's license is preferred. Occasional travel to conferences beyond the commuting area is required. Overtime work is frequently performed at conferences.
