You will serve as a Human Resources Director in the Human Resources Office Northwest of COMPACFLT HRO NORTHWEST.

Duties

You will plan, organize and direct civilian Human Resources (HR) services and activities. You will collaborate and develop budget submissions and long-term budget strategies to formulate a sound business plan to execute the various programs. You will oversee overall operation of the Human Resources Office Northwest, to ensure effective delivery of the programs. You will provide authoritative advice, guidance and direction to top-level management and key operating officials on civilian HR strategies, programs, regulations and practices. You will provide immediate and long-range, systematic HR planning in support of COMPACFLT’s mission relative to HR operational needs for the commands operational goals and objectives. You will conduct continuing assessment of the effectiveness and adequacy of HRO program operations. You will represent the activity head in discussion negotiations with all levels of management.

  • Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final Secret security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-14) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector executing, directing, or managing the delivery of civilian federal human resources (HR) services involving one or more of the following functions: staffing and recruitment, position classification, compensation, labor relations, employee relations, oversight of automated personnel information systems, or employee development; ensuring compliance with governing laws and regulations; developing, interpreting, or advising senior management on human resource policies and administration; or providing input for the strategic planning of human capital resources for an organization.
