This position is assigned to the Forest Service Human Resources Management (HRM), Internal Operations unit at the Albuquerque Service Center in Albuquerque, NM.
This position is the principal source of administrative expertise in an office with complex operational issues due to the interagency nature of the unit.

Duties
Duties listed are at the full performance GS-06 level.
Performs the day-to-day administrative work for the unit.
Assists with technical and administrative work related to record keeping, filing, unit planning, monitoring, resource studies, purchasing, budget, travel, human resources, property management, facility liaison, and other related tasks.
Performs a wide variety of office support activities.
Disseminates administrative information to unit employees and serves as a liaison for administrative support that is provided by other units.
Arranges, attends, and prepares informational packets for meetings and conferences.
Implements , maintains awareness of, and communicates applicable laws, regulations, directives, and policies to unit personnel for administrative work relating to acquisitions, payroll, human resources, travel, facilities, safety, and security.
Accepts, examines, evaluates, routes, and maintains incoming communication, mail, administrative email, faxes, and routine and sensitive correspondence.
Requirements

Qualifications

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Specialized Experience Requirement:
GS-05: Applicants must have three (3) years of progressively responsible general experience, one (1) year of which was equivalent to at least the GS-4 level. General experience is defined as one or more of the following: Dealing with others in person-to-person work situations; and/or obtaining and providing a variety of services for an organization; and/or other work that demonstrated the ability to successfully perform the work of the position to be filled.
OR
Successful completion of a full 4-year course of study in any field leading to a bachelor's degree;
OR
An appropriate combination of successfully completed post-high school education (in excess of the first 60 semester hours) and related general experience. The education must have been obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university.
GS-06: Applicants must have one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-05 grade level.
This experience must have demonstrated knowledge of the methods and procedures for providing or performing a variety of functions and services applicable to the position to be filled; ability to plan, organize, and control work involving diverse activities; ability to gain cooperation and coordinate the work of others; and skill in oral and written communications.
Specialized experience is defined as two or more of the following: Assisting with the management and coordination of the clerical and administrative functions to provide support services to the unit; and/or Receiving equipment or property, inspecting for damage, and preparing appropriate documentation; and/or receiving, reading, routing, controlling, and dispatching of inbound and outbound mail.
OR
One (1) full year (18 semester / 27 quarter hours) of successfully completed graduate level education that is directly related to the work of the position (such as Business or Public Administration, or other administrative or management fields related to the position being filled).
OR
An appropriate combination of successfully completed graduate level education that is directly related to the position and specialized experience. The education must have been obtained in an accredited college or university.
