Serves as an Operations Manager at a terminal or en route facility, responsible for planning and directing operations in the facility; or planning and directing multiple support activities for the facility such as training, quality assurance, traffic management, airspace and procedures, plans and programs, and other facility program areas.

Duties

Directs a highly technical workforce that provides either air traffic control services and/or tactical support. The work impacts the effectiveness and efficiency of the day-to -day operations of the facility. Work typically impacts the safe, orderly, and expeditious movement of aircraft as well as the efficient operation of segments of the aviation industry.

Requirements

  • US Citizenship is required.
  • Selective Service Registration is required for males born after 12/31/1959.
  • Must submit an SF50 (See Required Documents)
  • Security Requirement: Non-Critical Sensitive (2). This position requires completion and favorable adjudication of a background investigation prior to appointment, unless a waiver is obtained. Subject to a 5 year period reinvestigation.

Qualifications

Candidates must show specialized experience. Specialized experience is defined as:1. Must have held an FAA 2152 FV-J/FG-14 or above regional or headquarters position for at least 1 year (52 weeks); OR2. Must have been facility rated or area certified for at least 1 year (52 weeks) at an ATS facility {NOTE: An employee who has been facility rated or area certified for at least 1 year (52 weeks) at an ATS facility who is upgraded is considered to have met the qualification requirements of the higher-level position, since he/she has been performing the higher-graded work}; OR3. Must have held a MSS/TMC position for at least 1 year (52 weeks) in an ATS facility {reference NOTE above}.IN ADDITION to meeting the qualification requirements above, candidates MUST also be eligible to make application. Revision 1, "MSS Qualification Requirements for AT-2152 Terminal and En Route Positions" may be used to determine your eligibility to apply.For this particular position, applicants must currently hold or have held the position of MSS-2 or higher for at least 1 year (52 weeks) or a FAA 2152 FV-J/FG-14 or higher in a Headquarters or Region position for at least 1 year (52 weeks).Applications will first be reviewed to determine if minimum qualification requirements are met.
