This position is located at the Aurora Community Activity Center on Fort Greely, Alaska.
This position is eligible for 3.53% COLA.

Duties
Supervises a staff of 3-12 employees, assigns and reviews work assignments on a daily, weekly, or longer basis.
Supports the activity by applying a practical knowledge of recreational activities and skills in the use of recreation materials and facilities.
Works in executing recreation events, programs and services to meet the recreational needs of a diverse patronage, including a variety of multi disciplinary events and other major programs which involve a variety of activities.
Assists with training new personnel.
Assists with other recreation programs in the Recreation Center as needed.
Requirements

- Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check.

Qualifications
Must have knowledge of wide range of recreation and sports activities, organization and structure of military units and installation sports program objectives, policies, methods and procedures to plan, organize, and coordinate activities, assist, guide and motivate military staff in carrying out their responsibilities.
Must have basic understanding of budget and supply functions in order to prepare input and justification of funding for supplies and equipment.
Must have the ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing (English).
Work experience or education directly related to the duties to be performed.
Highly Preferred: Candidates that possess highly preferred criteria and meet the minimum qualifications above will be referred to the hiring manager first. Criteria is verified within the application package.
Possess experience providing oversight and management of Recreation and Business Programs.
Possess experience in assisting with development of strategic program plans, assessing program standards and procedures, analyzing for effectiveness, recommending appropriate changes, and conducting actual execution for the designated program.
Possess experience building and executing a budget - funded through appropriated and non-appropriated funds.
Possess experience in sufficient internal control mechanisms installed for all Divisions within the Directorate of Family and MWR.
Possess experience in implementing innovative programs.
Possess experience in reviewing program priorities and developing five-year plans covering projected programs of personnel, funds, and facilities.
Possess experience in directing, developing, and administering plans and procedures throughout division.
