About the Position: Serves as the Military Surface Deployment and Distribution Command (SDDC) Environmental Specialist. Serves as the Command expert on environmental and energy laws, regulations and unique requirements related to management of the Military Ocean Terminals (MOT), and its capital investment strategy including unique mission aspects such as dredging, climate change, and ordinances

Duties

The duties below are reflected at the full performance GS-13 level. Advise the Command Engineer of all major environmental and energy issues. Manage Energy Program in coordination with Military Ocean Terminals (MOT) Energy Managers, Technicians, and Headquarters supporting Engineers. Coordinate on short and long-range plans and develop programmatic strategies in environmental, energy and climate planning. Consult necessary historical, regulatory, and technical references as needed to evaluate proposed actions. Advises Department of Public Works (DPW) staff during field visits of potential environmental, energy, and climate related concerns and considerations. Manage the Environmental Program, to include adherence to NEPA on behalf of SDDC in coordination with the Command Engineer, Army Environmental Command, Regulatory Agencies, and United States Army Corps of Engineers
