THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 5 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for a ITSPECIALIST (NETWORK SERVICES/SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATION), Position Description Number T6324000 and is part of the 224 ADG, National Guard. This vacancy does not meet the criteria for appointment of annuitants.

Duties

As a IT SPECIALIST (NETWORK SERVICES/SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATION), GS-2210-12, you will serve as the senior system administrator providing planning, directing, and coordinating of Command and Control (C2) missions systems' installation, maintenance and support. Serves as lead system administrator, trainer and supervisor, and provides Information Assurance (lA) support.

• The employee’s normal duty days and hours may require rotating shifts and/or days.
• Irregular and/or overtime (compensatory) hours may be required to support operational requirements or contingencies or may be required to work hours outside of the normal duty day.
• The employee may be required to travel on military and commercial vehicles and aircraft to perform temporary duty.
• The employee must obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance within one year of appointment.
• The employee must obtain and maintain Security+ certification and may be required to obtain and maintain Linux+ or other certifications I.A.W. DoD 8570 and local requirements.
• This is a drug testing designated position. The incumbent is subject to random testing for drug use.
• 3+ years’ experience with the Linux operating system is highly desirable.

Qualifications

GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Experience, education or training that has provided a basicknowledge of data processing functions and general management principles thatenabled the applicant to understand the stages required to automate a work process.Experience may have been gained in work such as computer operator or assistant,computer sales representative, program analyst, or other positions that required the useor adaptation of computer programs and systems. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must have at least 36 months experience, education, or trainingthat approaches techniques and requirements appropriate to an assigned computerapplications area or computer specialty area in an organization. Experience planningthe sequence of actions necessary to accomplish the assignment where this entailedcoordination with others outside the organizational unit and development of projectcontrols. Experience that required adaptations of guidelines or precedents to meet theneeds of the assignment. Experience preparing documentation on cost/benefit studieswhere is involved summarizing the material and organizing it in a logical fashion.
