The incumbent is responsible for maintenance and repair of all refrigeration, both domestic and commercial, air conditioning, air cooling, chilled water, oxygen and gas control and distribution systems, pneumatic controls systems, electrical controls for air conditioning, heat and vent systems.
Duties
Your duties can include but are not limited to the following:
Measures environmental conditions using thermometer, hygrometer, psychrometer, velometers, anemometers, gauges, etc.
Performs industry standard refrigeration/air conditioning work concerning locating refrigerate leaks, evacuation of sealed systems, leak checking and recharging.
Operates, maintains, repairs and tests the chemical treatment system which is used to maintain cooling tower water at safe levels for purpose of eliminating equipment failure due to scale and erosion, and to eliminate the growth of objectionable mirco-organisms in the cooling water system.
Tests chilled and hot water systems for existing glyco concentrations necessary to maintain these mediums at acceptable levels to prevent equipment damage during low temperature extremes.
Responsible for the high degree of reliability and accuracy of alarm systems in the Morgue, Blood Bank and computer areas.
Recommends operational supply levels and equipment parts inventory as required to perpetuate the efficient maintenance of all equipment assigned to the section.
Responsible for maintenance and repair of equipment.
Knowledge of all resources required to trouble shoot and complete the job.
Troubleshoots and repairs window air conditioners, ceiling and floor mount water cooled air conditioners.

Physical Requirements:
May be required to bend, reach and hold awkward positions for prolonged periods. Frequently works from ladders, platforms, high places and cramped spaces. Considerable climbing, walking and stooping is also required for this position. Frequently lifts and moves objects up to 50lbs., and occasionally lifts and carries objects over 50lbs. either alone or with others.
Works indoors and outdoors, in all weather conditions, and is exposed to the usual occupational hazards. Required to work in close, extremely hot or cold places and around high voltage electricity. Must work in noisy, dusty and humid places.
