This position is being recruited under 10 USC 1599f into the Cyber Excepted Service and does NOT convey eligibility to be converted to the Competitive Service. It has been identified as a position necessary to carry out and support the mission of the US Cyber Command. It is in the Professional Work Category at the Senior Work Level within the CES Occupational Structure. It is located in the DISA DISA-Pacific-INFRASTRUCTURE SERVICES BRANCH (PC42).

Duties

Manage and support sustainment of the Agency transport in the Pacific and provides direction and guidance on all matters relating to near term engineering, planning, and implementation. Develop plans for attaining goals, periodically evaluates the progress towards goals, and makes appropriate adjustments. Coordinate the implementations and policies and procedures, directives, documents, agreements, and updates needed to accomplish network engineering, integration, network expansion, service provisioning, and management of the new projects. Consolidate and ensure program incorporation of validated operations, customer service and bandwidth allocation management requirements associated with the agency, Review test plans and test reports for equipment system and facilities and direct the cutover of circuits, links and systems.

Qualifications

Basic Requirements: For the Computer Engineer GG-0854 and Electronics Engineer GG-0855 Series A. Degree: professional engineering. To be acceptable, the curriculum must: (1) be in a school of engineering with at least one curriculum accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) as a professional engineering curriculum; or (2) include differential and integral calculus and courses (more advanced than first-year physics and chemistry) in five of the following seven areas of engineering science or physics: (a) statics, dynamics; (b) strength of materials (stress-strain relationships); (c) fluid mechanics, hydraulics; (d) thermodynamics; (e) electrical fields and circuits; (f) nature and properties of materials (relating particle and aggregate structure to properties); and (g) any other comparable area of fundamental engineering science or physics, such as optics, heat transfer, soil mechanics, or electronics. OR B. Combination of education and experience -- college-level education, training, and/or technical experience that furnished (1) a thorough knowledge of the physical and mathematical sciences underlying professional engineering, and (2) a good understanding, both theoretical and practical, of the engineering sciences and techniques and their applications to one of the branches of engineering. For this position, qualifying experience is defined as: Evaluate engineering plans applicable to these subsystems to ensure technical adequacy regarding engineering parameters, maintainability, supportability and survivability, and the inclusion of appropriate Test and Acceptance (T&A)/commissioning provisions. . Education

There is no substitution of education for the qualifying experienceat the GG-13 grade level.
