About the Position: This position resides in the U.S. Army Recruiting Command (USAREC), Brigade (BDE), S-3 Operations Division, Operations Branch. The purpose of this position is to support the Operations Branch by performing various military human resources (HR) administrative support duties.
Duties
Prepare briefing handouts for training on behalf of the subordinate Battalions (BN).
Compile statistical production data for historical and comparative analysis.
Participate in the conduction of inspections and re-inspections of subordinate Battalions (BN).
Provide support to the Operations Branch by performing military human resources (HR) administrative support duties.
Review request to determine appropriate actions on Battalion (BN) jurisdiction cases.
Utilize multiple automated systems to conduct production management reports.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) of approximately three to five days a month to conduct training at and/or perform inspections of subordinate Battalions.
- This position is dependent on successful completion of the United States Army/Army Reserve Guidance Counselor Operations Course (GCOC).

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Current United States Army Recruiting Command (USAREC) Employees:
One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-05 grade level in the Federal service which includes (1) utilizing an established automated systems to process personnel actions (i.e. military actions), (2) analyzing data to prepare reports; (3) reviewing files for accuracy; and (4) Utilizing an automated system to obtain and/or maintain data. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05).
All other Applicants:
Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes includes (1) utilizing multiple human resource systems to process human resource actions (i.e. military actions); (2) obtaining information from automated systems to prepare personnel related reports; (3) reviewing personnel records for completeness and accuracy; and (4) initiating replies to non-routine and routine correspondence. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06).
OR
Education: One full year of graduate level education in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as Human Resources.
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) by 18. Add the two percentages.
Proficiency Required: This position requires a qualified typist. A qualified typist can type 40 words per minute based on a 5 minute sample with three or fewer errors.
