You will serve as an INVENTORY MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST in the CONTROL DIVISION/REQUIREMENTS BRANCH of TRIREFFAC KINGS BAY.

Duties

You will provide inventory management support for all Division processes concerned with cataloging, monitoring, storing, transporting and procuring TRIREFFAC stock material. You will participate in developing, planning and implementing Requirements Branch operational objectives associated with the control of TRIDENT weapon systems and subsystems. You will translate TRIDENT Planned Equipment Replacement (TRIPER) inventory requirements into functional procedures for supply procurement/production to insure availability of items for submarine refits. You will initiate material procurement action for items which have not previously been obtained or which requires special consideration and provides guidance to subordinates in resolving difficult procurement situations. You will prepare reports, conduct studies and investigate inventory management concerns on specific TRIREFFAC items at the request of internal/external personnel. You will verify inventory listings, check on condition of materials stores and summarize findings in report form to be either reviewed by supervisors or external personnel requesting data. You will perform research on all frustrated stock receipts (i.e. Shortages, shelf-life (batch) acceptable substitute, wrong material, condition codes, Unit of Measure, etc.), making corrections/adjustments to the Purchase Order (PO).

Requirements

  • This is a bargaining unit position.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:1) Experience and knowledge of stock control procedures and regulations 2) Experience and knowledge of Navy Enterprise Resource Planning (N-ERP) programs, and statistical data and their application to inventory control functions or similar 3) Experience and knowledge of the relationship of procurement, maintenance, data processing, transportation, storage, and cataloging considerations to inventory management processes and determinations 4) Experience initiating and maintaining effective personal contacts with Navy and/or contractor inventory managers 5) Experience analyzing varied data and make sound inventory management judgements and recommendations 6) Experience interpreting and applying higher level directives which apply to inventory management in a large industrial organization. Education

In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:

Successful completion of a master's or equivalent graduate degree
OR
Successful completion of two full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a master's degree
OR
