Requirements

- This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the employing state's National Guard, required prior to the effective date of placement.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION:
This position requires military membership in the Puerto Rico Air National Guard (PRANG). If you are not a military member of the PRANG (i.e., member of the PR Army NG, civilian, active-duty Airman, prior service, Airman member from another state, reservist, IRR, State Guard, etc.), you must contact the ANG Recruiting and Retention Superintendent (RRS) Office at (787) 787-289-1400 extension 1713 or (787) 529-2094 and request the PRANG Military Basic Requirements (MBR) Certification. If the MBR Certification is not submitted, or you do not meet the requirements to be a member of the PRANG, your application will not be screened.
AREA OF CONSIDERATION:

Area 1 = All permanent Technician Officer members (NG T32/NG T5) within the Puerto Rico Air National Guard.

Area 4 = Officer Prior (former) members of the Puerto Rico Air National Guard.

DUTIES:
As a LOGISTICS MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST (D1414PR1), GS-0346-12, you will manage, direct, develop and implement policy programs and procedures for the accurate management of Group Logistics planning. Serves as the Logistics Officer/Specialist and provides administrative and technical oversight to a lower-graded specialist. This position is responsible for fully prepared, assigned unit personnel and equipment for Contingency Response Group Operations around the world.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Work is sedentary and normally performed in an office setting. Walking or standing occurs in connection with travel to and from attendance at meetings and conferences. No special physical effort is required to perform the work.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
Work is generally performed in a well-heated, well-lighted, well-ventilated office setting. Normal everyday risks are encountered in going to and from offices and buildings and in traveling by military or commercial transportation.
QUALIFICATIONS:

GENERAL EXPERIENCE:
Experience, education, or training involving judgment and/or analytical ability in the logistics field. Experience using computer and automation systems.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:
Applicant must possess at least TWELVE (12) months at the next lower grade level GS-11 or the equivalent THIRTY-SIX (36) months of specialized experience performing or supervising duties such as managing, directing, and implementing the local formulation and publication of installation deployment guidance; reviewing USAF, NGB, and MAJCOM deployment procedures; establishing deployment policy and setting procedures for the integrated efforts of aircraft maintenance, supply, transportation, civil engineering, operations, and supported units; planning, developing, directing, and conducting deployment training; planning and controlling the movement of personnel and equipment during simulated and actual deployments and exercises; assisting units with deployments problems by providing guidance and conducting staff assistance visits; managing the wing support agreement program; developing and scheduling manpower and workload requirements; assisting units by providing guidance and conducting staff assistance visits; negotiating, writing , coordinating, and monitoring different types of agreements; developing and directing the formulation of load plans and analyzing transportation requirements; managing and directing the overall implementation of automated systems; providing guidance and assistance to all non-pilot units of the Air National Guard.
Education
SUBSTITUTION OF EDUCATION FOR SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:
Successful completion of a full 4-year course of study in fields listed below leading to a bachelor's degree, in an accredited college or university, (30 semester's hours or 20 classroom hours of instruction per week) for 6 months of specialized experience. Courses must be directly related to the work of the position.
