These positions are located within the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), National Agricultural Statistics Service (NASS), Southern Plains RFO in Austin, TX, Great Lakes RFO in Lansing, MI, Delta RFO in Little Rock, AR, Eastern Mountain RFO in Louisville, KY, Heartland RFO in Olivette, MO, and The National Operations Division in Olivette, MO.
In these positions, you will be responsible for the preparation and maintenance of statistical records and various statistical documents.
Duties
Examine questionnaires for reasonableness and accuracy, noting and correcting improperly reported data to predetermined units, and examining for or correcting inconsistencies and inaccuracies.
Summarize recurring data problems and develops recommendations for handling such as revising specifications or procedures.
Assist in preparing and maintaining computerized charts and graphs for use by statisticians or analysts in analyzing data, preparing estimates and forecasts, or for inclusion in report.
Assist in the telephone enumeration of sampled questionnaires to certify information received.
Requirements
- You must be a US Citizen or US National.
- Males born after 12/31/1959 must be Selective Service registered or exempt.
- Must be in good academic standing and hold a GPA of at least 2.0.
- Complete at least 640 hrs of work experience prior to completion of degree.
- Enrolled at least half-time at a qualifying educational institution.
- A signed participant agreement is required for employment under Pathways.
- Satisfactory Background investigation and/or fingerprint check.
- Successful completion of two-year trial period.

Qualifications
Applicants must meet all qualification and eligibility requirements by 11:59 pm Eastern Time on the closing date of the announcement. PATHWAYS ELIGIBILITY
All applicants must be currently enrolled or accepted for enrollment as a student on at least a half-time schedule at a qualifying educational institution in a certificate, degree, or diploma program.

GS-03
Education: Completion of 1 academic year of post-high school study.
GS-04
Education: Completion of 2 full academic years of post-high school study or an associate's degree.
GS-05
Education: Completion of 4 academic years of post-high school leading to a bachelor's degree or equivalent degree.
Applicants will be assessed/evaluated through application of the agency developed qualification standard for internship positions, which is based solely on level of education.
