About the Position: This position is located at Evans Army Community Hospital duty location Fort Carson, Colorado.
This is a TERM position not exceed 13 months. It is time-limited and may be extended beyond six (6) years, up to eight (8) years. This position may be converted to permanent career or career-conditional appointment without further competition as long as all requirements are met.
Duties
Schedule training and maintain education and training records for civilian and military personnel.
Coordinate and conduct training hospital education and staff development programs
Assist with the conduction of the annual training needs surveys, screen annual training needs, help facilitate training, and in processing of new personnel.
Assist with designing and development of online training courses.
Compile and present periodic statistical reports pertaining to the orientations and training, completed, canceled, and noncompliance.
Establish and maintains office files in accordance with DHA and Army Training standard/regulations.
Use office automation equipment to prepare a wide variety of correspondence, reports, and forms.
Use and maintain database or spreadsheet software to enter, revise, sort and retrieve data for reports and uses graphic software to provide charts and graphs.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position is inclement weather essential. This means that you must be willing to make every attempt to report for duty on time and/or remain on duty during severe weather conditions.
- This position requires a mandatory seasonal influenza vaccine and is therefore subject to annual seasonal influenza vaccinations.
- This position may require periodic immunizations (other than the influenza vaccine) and tuberculosis monitoring.
- A security background investigation is required (NACI).

In order to qualify, you must meet experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience.
To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job.
Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-04 grade level in the Federal service which includes demonstrated/documented experience in 1) coordinating and conducting various hospital education and staff development programs, 2) establishing and maintaining office electronic and hard copy education and training office records, 3) preparing a wide variety of correspondence, reports, and forms using office automated systems/databases, AND 4) entering, revising, sorting, and retrieving data for reports and graphs using database or spreadsheet and graphic software. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-04).
This position requires a qualified typist. A qualified typist can type 40 words per minute based on a 5 minute sample with three or fewer errors.

Time in Grade Requirement: Candidates may be advanced without time restriction to positions up to GS-5 if the position to be filled is no more than two grades above the lowest grade the employee held within the preceding 52 weeks under his or her latest non temporary competitive appointment.
