The primary purpose of this position is to provide developmental experience designed to broaden the skills and/or enhance the leadership perspective of an identified high-potential, mid-level manager/executive.

Duties

Duty 1: Administers the ACC Enterprise Security Process. Analyzes ACC enterprise wide security issues to include program protection challenges, vulnerabilities, security impacts to mission assurance, and convergence difficulties involving multiple security disciplines and other functional areas; and provides cost effective, efficient, and productive solutions to ensure mission success. Duty 2: Plans, organizes, and directs security policy activities for ACC Cyber, Intelligence, and CAF protection requirements. As the Enterprise Security integrator and Program Protection security technical expert, the incumbent is responsible for the development and integration of policy for the protection of information, resources and technology across ACC's diverse portfolio. Has key decision-making and policy developing responsibilities in often very difficult assignments. Duty 3: Organize and integrate enterprise security with all customers and stakeholders. Represents organization with DoD, USAF, and HQ ACC organizations as well as other government and contractor organizations for the oversight and integration of Enterprise Security. Establishes, matures and maintains effective working relationships with these organizations. Meets with key customer and coordinating officials to assess customer satisfaction, explain organization policy and procedures, and resolve problems that arise.

  • PCS cost will be paid IAW Career Broadening Policy under this agreement.
  • Career Broadening positions are managed by AFPC/DPCZ and are centrally funded.
  • Positions are established specifically to provide developmental experience designed to broaden the skills and/or enhance the leadership perspective of a high-potential, mid-level manager.
  • Career Broadening also provides training and developmental opportunities at various organizational levels.
  • These assignments offer the qualified candidate a unique assignment in that the candidates brings certain experience to the assignment while gaining new experiences in a different work environment
  • TEMPORARY PROMOTION: If the position is filled as a temporary promotion, upon completion of the career broadening assignment, the temporary promotion may lead to permanent promotion without further competition
  • Position may be subject to random drug testing
  • Travel by regularly scheduled commercial or military conveyances IAW Joint Travel Regulations may be required in performance of TDY
  • Employee may be required to work other than normal duty hours, to include evenings, weekends and/or holidays
  • Shift work and emergency overtime may be required
  • This is a Mission Essential (ME) position performing a Mission Critical Function (MCF) which must continue uninterrupted after the occurrence of an emergency and continued through full resumption of all functions.
  • Department of Defense Security Fundamentals Professional Certification (SFPC) and Security Asset Protection Professional Certification (SAPPC) conferrals are required within 2 years of the established employee EOD

Qualifications

AREA OF CONSIDERATION IS LIMITED TO CURRENT PERMANENT INTERNAL AIR FORCE CIVILIAN EMPLOYEES WITHIN THE SECURITY CAREER FIELD ALL OTHER CANDIDATES WILL BE OUTSIDE THE AREA OF CONSIDERATION. THIS ASSIGNMENT IS TEMPORARY AND LIMITED IN DURATION TO 36 MONTHS. THIS VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT IS FOR ONE FORMAL CAREER BROADENING OPPORTUNITY IN THE SECURITY CAREER FIELD. THIS POSITION IS LOCATED AT ACC/IP, JB LANGLEY-EUSTIS VA. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: One year of specialized experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSA's) to successfully perform the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled. To be creditable, the specialized experience must have been at the GS-12 grade level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: 1.Mastery of enterprise security concepts, Cyber Security integration, Intelligence oversight, CAF principles, information, industrial, and personnel security concepts, principles, and practices to plan and implement security programs in these areas. 2. Expert ability in developing, analyzing, and evaluating security programs to meet mission requirements and improve the security program for the MAJCOM. 3. Knowledge of engineering, contracting, logistics and other functional concepts, programs, procedures, and practices as they relate to Enterprise Security and Program Protection. 4. Ability to communicate orally and in writing, clearly, concisely, and accurately. 5. Ability to establish effective professional working relationships with coworkers and customers, contributing to a cooperative working environment and successful accomplishment of the mission.
