Duties

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Band 3 Imagery Analysts analyze and interpret imagery to support U.S. military and policymaker interests. They analyze the activities and interests of countries, regions, and non-state entities, as well as the impact of natural and man-made disasters. In addition, these analysts conduct multi-INT research, populate and exploit intelligence databases, produce and disseminate moderately complex intelligence products, and defend their findings in a variety of forums. Band 3 Imagery Analysts develop regional or functional expertise. They maintain relationships with their IC counterparts, international partners, and customers. MANDATORY QUALIFICATION CRITERIA: For this particular job, applicants must meet all competencies reflected under the Mandatory Qualification Criteria to include education (if required). Demonstrated experience conducting imagery research and analysis to address national security issues.2. Demonstrated experience utilizing imagery or open source intelligence to deliver a product or service to a customer.3. Demonstrated experience conducting data mining and analytics for exploratory analysis.4. Demonstrated experience using data visualization or new methodologies to address international or intelligence issues. 5. Demonstrated ability to develop and present findings to meet the needs of various audiences. 6. Demonstrated experience collaborating with experts to solve problems.EDUCATION REQUIREMENT: A. Education: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Engineering, Foreign Area Studies, Geography, History, International Affairs, International Studies, Military Science, Physical Science, Political Science, Remote Sensing, or a related field. -OR- B. Combination of Education and Experience: A minimum of 24 semester (36 quarter) hours of coursework in any area listed in option A, plus experience working in an Intelligence discipline analyzing and interpreting imagery and maintaining and building tasking strategies, or a related area that demonstrates the ability to successfully perform the duties associated with this work. As a rule, every 30 semester (45 quarter) hours of coursework is equivalent to one year of experience. Candidates should show that their combination of education and experience totals 4 years. -OR- C. Experience: A minimum of 4 years of experience working in an Intelligence discipline analyzing and interpreting imagery and maintaining and building tasking strategies, or a related area that demonstrates the ability to successfully perform the duties associated with this work.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENT: Distinguish principal colors and shades/hues of principal colors; Near visual acuity of 20/20 or better with or without corrective lenses; Stereopsis ability; Hand steadinessENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENT: Prolonged exposure to video display unitsDESIRABLE QUALIFICATION CRITERIA: In addition to the mandatory qualifications, experience in the following is desired: 1. Demonstrated experience with remote sensing and/or imagery analysis tools and software (i.e., electronic light tables, such as RemoteView or SocetGXP).2. Demonstrated experience with national and/or Commercial Imaging Systems, image tasking; image processing, image exploitation and writing imagery reports.3. Possess knowledge of or technical skills in scripting and coding, programming, algorithm development, data science, and/or computational thinking.
