You will serve as an EQUIPMENT SPECIALIST in the Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division, DEPT OF NAVY of NAVAIRWARCENADLKE.

Duties

You will analyze new programs and systems for possible application to maximize cost, schedule, or performance metrics. You will survey the financial requirements, human capital resources, or technical components to identify maintenance program operating perimeters. You will speak with other organizations to resolve inquiries regarding systems or equipment. You will monitor and adapt project plans (e.g., test and evaluation master plans) to adjust production, installation, or certification schedules. You will analyze and resolve problems on ALRE and SE systems by maintaining knowledge and making recommendations for corrective actions. You will maintain knowledge of TEST site locations, testing procedures and repair procedures for RALS, EMALS, AAG, Legacy catapults, JCTS track sites, and Legacy engines. You will perform assigned tasks from start to finish without assistance.  This includes scoping job, planning, ordering material from vendor, installing, testing, and completing. You will guide, mentor, train other employees for JCTS and catapult operations while maintaining proper safe operations and JQR knowledge of these sites.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This is a bargaining unit position.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Working in a Total Quality Management system by actively participating in the continuous improvement of all forms of work using effective human relations. 2) Participating in teams which search for, identify and eliminate waste from all business processes. 3) Solving problems effectively by using objective data to generate conclusions. 4) Identifying customers, both internal and external, and meeting their needs.
