LOCATION: The Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS), Food and Drug Administration (FDA), Office of Regulatory Affairs (ORA) is recruiting for multiple Intern positions in various offices. Applicants may apply to one of the duty stations as listed.
Duties
Performs administrative and clerical support and assistance.
Assembles data, consolidates and prepares reports.
Gathers and analyzes requested information for a variety of projects.
Provides information to others and follows up to assure completion.
Performs other work of a general clerical and administrative nature.
Requirements
- Must be a U.S. citizen or national to be considered for appointment.

Qualifications
In order to qualify for the Pathways Internship Program, applicants must meet the following eligibility criteria and the qualification requirements corresponding to the grade level at which they wish to be considered by the closing date of the announcement:
PROGRAM ELIGIBILITY: Applicants must be accepted for enrollment or currently enrolled as a degree seeking student in an accredited high school, home-school or a home-school curriculum, vocational or technical institution, 2- or 4- year college/university or graduate/professional school; taking a minimum half-time load of courses; possessing and maintaining a cumulative GPA of at least 3.0 on a scale of 4.0; and pursuing any of the following academic degrees:
High School Diploma or equivalent - A public high school whose curriculum has been approved by a State or local governing body, a private school that provides secondary education as determined under State law, or a home-school that is allowed to operate in a state.
Vocational/Technical Certificate (two-year program)
Associate's Degree
Baccalaureate Degree
Graduate Degree (Master's program)
Professional Degree (Doctoral program)
Under the Pathways Programs, the definition of "qualifying educational institution" includes certain home-school curricula. To be included, post-secondary home-school program must be recognized by the State or location government oversight agency. Students participating in theses home-school curricula may apply for consideration under the Pathways Program. Please click here for a list of qualifying educational institutions.
NOTE: Official transcripts are required upon selection and prior to appointment.Transcripts and proof of enrollment may be obtained from the National Student Clearinghouse. Failure to submit the documentation will result in disqualification from further consideration.
In addition to the eligibility requirements for the Pathways Internship Program, you must also meet the followings qualification requirements based on the educational achievements by the closing date of this announcement in order to qualify for the Student Trainee (Administrative Support), 0399, at GS - 1/2/3/4.
GS-01: Enrollment in a high school diploma or equivalent.
GS-02: Completion of high school graduation or equivalent.
GS-03: Completion of 1 full academic year (30 semester/45 quarter units) of post-high school study.
GS-04: Completion of 2 full academic years (60 semester/90 quarter units) of post-high school study or an associate's degree.

Education
FOREIGN EDUCATION: A
pplicants using part, or all of their education completed outside of the U.S. to meet the qualification requirements, must have their foreign education evaluated by an accredited organization to ensure that the foreign education is comparable to education received in accredited educational institutions in the U.S. We will only accept the completed foreign credential evaluation.
To be acceptable, the foreign credential evaluation must include/describe at a minimum, the following information: (1) The type of education received by the applicant; (2) The level of education in relation to the U.S. education system, and state that its comparability recommendations follow the general guidelines of the International Evaluation Standards Council; (3) The content of the applicant's educational program earned abroad, and the standard obtained; (4) The status of the awarding foreign school's recognition and legitimacy in its home country's education system; and (5) Any other information of interest such as what the evaluation service did to obtain this information, the qualifications of the evaluator, and any indications as to other problems such as forgery.
Note: Some positions require the completion of specific courses or a specified number of credit hours. Therefore, the foreign credential evaluation should provide information similar to that of an official transcript, to include a list of the courses taken, quarter and/or semester hours awarded, the cumulative grade point average (GPA), honors received, if any, date degree awarded.
Applicants can request an evaluation from a member organization of one of the two national associations of credential evaluation services listed below:
- National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (NACES)
- Association of International Credentials Evaluators (AICE)
