You will serve as a Physical Security Specialist in the Plan, Policies and Operations Security Division of MARINE CORPS BASE QUANTICO.

Duties

You will support the full range of the physical security program and electronic security system requirements aboard the installation. You will support formulation of goals, objectives and solutions for budget submission for the physical security/ crime prevention section programs. You will be responsible for the application of security measures, equipment, and requirements for physical security, crime prevention, antiterrorism, and force protection efforts. You will participate in all facility planning, designing, pre-construction and construction meetings. You will be responsible for the reviewing command authorization and providing authorized access, to include access badges, codes and authorities to command personnel approved in writing for access to restricted areas.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.
  • This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.
  • This position requires rotating shift work.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.
  • You must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S Government emergency vehicle operator's license.
  • Incumbent must be able to read, write and speak English.

Qualifications

GS:09: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate most or all of the following:1.) Supporting formulation of goals, objectives and solutions for budget submission for the physical security / crime prevention section programs; 2.) Participating in all facility planning, designing, pre-construction and construction meetings for facilities construction and renovation; 3.) Reviewing command authorization and providing authorized access; 4.) Reviewing all security requirements waiver and exception requests; AND 5.) Supporting the Physical Security Specialist Supervisor in the planning, coordinating and conducting of installation physical security council meetings. GS:07: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate most or all of the following: 1.) Supporting formulation of goals, objectives and solutions for budget submission for the physical security/ crime prevention section programs; 2.) Conducting physical security surveys and crime prevention surveys; 3.) Supporting and maintaining the installations Lost and Found Program to ensure proper receipt, handling and return of property to the owner; AND 4.) Supporting the Physical Security Specialist Supervisor in the planning, coordinating and conducting of installation physical security council meetings. Education

In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:GS-09
  • Master's or equivalent graduate degree; OR
  • Two full years of progressively higher graduate level education leading to such a degree; OR

  • Combination of experience and graduate education as described above that equates to one year of experience.

GS-07
  • One full year of graduate level education; OR
