This position is located within Refugee, Asylum & International Operations, Asylum Division, Miami Asylum Office.
As a Mission Support Assistant, you will maintain tracking systems of transactions, procure routine equipment and services, and maintain office files and records.
Duties
The responsibilities described are for the full performance level. At developmental grade levels, assignments will be of more limited scope performed with less independence, and limited complexity.
Coordinate requests for services from users and complete necessary forms.
Maintain office files and records.
Maintain a variety of logs to monitor budget transactions and various processes.
Procure routine equipment and services.
Provide information regarding various HR procedures.
Prepare recurring reports.
Qualifications
The qualifications for this position must be met by 11:59 PM (Eastern Time) on 10/20/2023.
Time in Grade does not apply to Delegated Examining Announcements, any reference to Time in Grade in the questionnaire will not apply to the rating and ranking of applicants.
GS-05: You qualify at the GS-05 level if you possess one (1) year of specialized experience, equivalent to at least the GS-04 level in the federal government, which has equipped you with the skills needed to successfully perform the duties of the position. You must have experience performing the following duties:
Gathering data for routine reports;
Maintaining transaction logs;
Maintaining office files and records;
Ordering routine equipment and services;
Typing office documents, reviewing forms and other documents for completeness;
Preparing graphs and charts.
OR
You may substitute successful completion of 4 years above high school for the experience required at the GS-05 grade level. This education must have been obtained from an accredited college or university. One year of full-time undergraduate study is defined as 30 semester or 45 quarter hours.
GS-06: In addition to the requirements at the lower grade level(s), you qualify at the GS-06 level if you possess one (1) year of specialized experience, equivalent to at least the GS-05 level in the federal government, which has equipped you with the skills needed to successfully perform the duties of the position. You must have experience performing the following duties:
Preparing a variety of administrative program documents and reports;
Monitoring transactions;
Maintaining records;
Processing requests for services and resolving discrepancies;
Providing routine program information to users.
GS-07: In addition to the requirements at the lower grade level(s), you qualify at the GS-07 level if you possess one (1) year of specialized experience, equivalent to at least the GS-06 level in the federal government, which has equipped you with the skills needed to successfully perform the duties of the position. You must have experience performing the following duties:
Coordinating administrative requirements with offices served;
Maintaining contact with offices having primary responsibility for administrative programs and obtaining most up-to-date information on procedural requirements;
Providing procedural assistance on routine administrative matters;
Maintaining databases and identifying trends or patterns;
Compiling a variety of reports.
