About the Position: This position is located at the U.S. Army, Headquarters US Army Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC), Deputy Chief of Staff, G-1/4, Fort Eustis, VA. Fort Eustis is located in Newport News, between historic Williamsburg and Virginia Beach.

Duties

Serves as the TRADOC senior staff manager and advisor for the Library Enterprise, enterprise governance, and knowledge management applications. Advises TRADOC libraries on planning, budgeting, purchasing and implementation of electronic resources and automated information systems. Responsible for the full scope of library operations, administration, and program management of the TRADOC Library Program Reviews HQDA and DoD policies. Coordinates professional librarian training and professional development.

BASIC REQUIREMENT FOR Librarian: Completion of 1 full academic year of graduate study in library science in an accredited college or university, in addition to completion of all work required for a bachelor's degree. (Note: You must submit a copy of your transcripts.) OR A total of at least 5 years of a combination of college-level education, training, and experience. To qualify on this basis, the applicant must establish conclusively that the education, training, and experience provided a knowledge and understanding of the theories, principles, and techniques of professional librarianship; a knowledge of literature resources; and the knowledge and abilities essential for providing effective library and information services. (Note: You must submit a copy of your transcripts.) In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below: Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) collection development, reference, cataloging; 2) library automation to solve highly complex problems within the functions and to manage the library system; 3) providing guidance to libraries about collection development; and 4) prepare briefings for program initiatives and training development. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-13 or above). You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Administration and ManagementAttention to DetailEducation and TrainingTechnical Competence Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-13).
