About the Position: This position is located in the Directorate of Surgery, Tripler Army Medical Center (TAMC) with the Defense Health Agency, Indo-Pacific Market.

Duties
Operate otolaryngology medical equipment to examine and treat patients.
Screen and determine appropriate testing for patients.
Develop written procedures for patient management and nursing activities.
Coordinate appointments for patients with special requirements.
Provide professional nursing treatment to patients in the clinic.
Assist physicians in carrying out treatment and procedures.
Act as a member of the multidisciplinary team by providing observations and recommendations to the physician.
Initiate appropriate emergency measures when the physician is not present.
Treat patients undergoing sublingual immunotherapy and subcutaneous immunotherapy injections.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires regular contact with children under the age 18 and a favorable determination of suitability to do so.
- This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination and an annual examination thereafter.
- The duties of this position meet the criteria for compliance with Federal and Department of the Army Drug Free Workplace Programs.
- This position has a requirement to lift up to 25 lbs. in the regular performance of duties.
- Appointment to this position is subject to a one year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.
- This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 5% of the time.
- This position requires Basic Life Support training certification from, or in accordance with, the American Heart Association and American Red Cross.
- Employees assigned to a medical treatment facility are required to be screened for applicable immunizations or pre-existing immunity based on occupational risk, regardless of job series.
- This position has a mandatory seasonal influenza vaccination requirement and is subject to annual vaccination.
