About the position: This position will be assigned to the Community Services Flight - Pacific Coast Club.
Duties
Provides day-to-day advice and guidance to employees for work assignments; relays instructions from the supervisor for work assignments; gets the work started and sets the work pace. Demonstrates work methods and provides work-related guidance; ensures that worksite materials and tools are available; and ensures that employees follow security, safety and housekeeping rules. Prepares a variety of coffee beverages and food items. Receives payment. Operates cash register, makes and returns change to patrons.
Sets up work area for operation and obtain cash bank, cafeteria lines, steam tables, dining room tables, and side service stands with hot and cold food items including meats, vegetables, salads, desserts, bread, butter and beverages. Sets up dining room tables for service, places food and beverages on tables, and replenishes items as necessary. Serves food cafeteria style. Breaks down and cleans area when meals are complete. Sets up and operates dishwashers, performs preventive maintenance and cleaning. Scrapes, soaks, scours and scrubs bowls, pots and pans. Maintains work area in a neat and clean manner. Also performs heavy duty cleaning tasks such as ceilings, exhaust hoods, under and behind kitchen equipment, washes floors and walls, walk-in refrigerators and freezers, and sanitizes garbage cans. Collects and transfers trash from work area to disposal area.
Performs cafe inventories, identifies items for re-ordering. May require to prepare documentations for cash funds accountability. Makes coffee, tea and other beverages. Performs other related duties as assigned

Requirements

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.
Qualifying Experience:
Progressive responsible experience in managing par levels, previous experience with conducting inventories, stocking, reorder and ability to lead three or more workers to accomplish food service duties.
Must be able to follow simple oral instructions, be able to use hand tools for cleaning, and operate simple machines.
Must be skilled in doing tasks with several steps and must use judgement in sequencing tasks.
Knowledge of sanitation standards in handling and serving food.
Must be physically able to frequently lift or move objects weighing up to 40 pounds.
Must be able to continuously stand and walk, and frequently stoop, reach, push, pull and bend for long periods of time.
Must be able to obtain a Food Handler's Certificate and/or complete food handler's training.

Education
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution.
FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements. You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program. It is your responsibility to provide such evidence when applying.
