Duties

Major duties include but are not limited to:
Performs full range of timekeeping duties for the Patient Care Service Office to include maintaining and coding accurate timecards for more than three hundred employees, and inputting data into the computer timekeeping program.
Trains all managers on timekeeping.
Screens all incoming correspondence for action items.
Reviews outgoing correspondence and reports for correct formatting, spelling accuracy, clarity of expression, sequential logic, etc.
Processing and preparing reports in spreadsheet or database format.
Receives telephone calls and visitors.
Other related duties as assigned.
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 7:30am - 4:00pm, with rotation to 7:00 am to 3:30pm to meet departmental needs

Qualifications
TYPING PROFICIENCY: This position requires the skills of a qualified typist. In addition to meeting the experience and/or education requirements, you must be able to type at least 40 words per minute. ~AND~
To qualify for this position at the GS-5 level, applicants must meet the following:
Specialized Experience: You must have at least one (1) full year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-4) in Federal Service, that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of a Program Support Assistant (Office Automation), GS-5 position, and that is typically in or related to the work of this position. Specialized experience includes: performing a full range of administrative support for an office; receiving visitors and phone calls; reviewing all incoming and outgoing correspondence; scheduling appointments and meetings; preparing a range of correspondence and reports; and utilizing office automation software such as Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint). ~OR~
Education: Successfully completed four (4) years of education above the high school level in any field which high school graduation or the equivalent is the normal prerequisite. This education must have been obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university for which high school graduation or the equivalent is the normal prerequisite. One year of full-time undergraduate study is defined as 30 semester hours, 45 quarter hours, or the equivalent in a college or university or at least 20 hours of classroom instruction per week for approximately 36 weeks in a business, secretarial or technical school. Combination: Equivalent combinations of successfully completed post-high school education (beyond the second year) and specialized experience, as described above, which meet the total experience requirements for this grade level.
