This position is located in an Area Office in USDA/Rural Development (RD). The incumbent serves as a key member of the State Director's staff, participating fully in the planning, development, and implementation of rural development and assistance programs.
Duties
Serves as senior staff specialist for the state of Single-Family Housing loans. Conducts or directs special studies of program activities and problems.
Serves as state expert on information technology applications used by the operating loan staff. Prepares special reports for the use of State Director and other staff members.
Participates in developing and implementing annual and longer-term program plans and target for the state.
Shares responsibility with superior in planning, implementing, coordinating, and evaluating statewide rural housing program operations.
Requirements

- Successful completion of one-year probationary period, unless previously served.
- Subject to one-year supervisory/managerial probationary period unless prior service is creditable. New USDA supervisors must successfully complete all components of the required training program before the end of their probationary period.

Qualifications
Applicants must meet all qualifications and eligibility requirements by the closing date of the announcement including specialized experience and/or education, as defined below.
For the GS-13 level: Applicants must possess one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-12 grade level; or its non-Federal equivalent that demonstrates experience planning, developing, and implementing all various loan assistance programs; formulating objectives and allocating available resources necessary to effectively implement loans and grants in business and industry, cooperatives, single-family housing, and/or community facility; perform administrative and/or technical supervision; or similar work.
