Duties
Serves as a senior level Criminal Investigator involved in conducting investigations of complex national, international and systematically important financial institutions.
Lead and/or participate in interagency task force projects and working groups to address complex electronic crime investigative matters.
Plan, assist, and advise supervisors and lower-graded staff members on the electronic crime investigative program development, standards, methods, policies, procedures, and techniques.
Perform a large quantity of computer forensic exams.
Plan, coordinate, and initiate contacts with federal, state, and local officials and other relevant stakeholders to gather essential information related to electronic crime investigations.
Prepare Reports of Investigations/Prosecution Reports to document electronic crime investigations and forensic exams findings.
Qualifications
Qualifying experience may be obtained in the private or public sector. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic, religious/spiritual; community; student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. To qualify, applicants must have completed at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the 13 grade level or above in the Federal service. Specialized experience is independently planning, organizing and conducting investigations or other fact find reviews; and performing computer forensic exams of different varieties and complexity related to electronic crimes.
