Reclamation is seeking a career professional looking for an opportunity to capitalize on their expertise as a Mobile Equipment Servicer. You can make a difference in the West by assisting in meeting increasing water demands while protecting the environment.
Duty Location: Klamath Falls, Oregon
Duties
NOTE: This recruitment is for a TERM position. It is a time limited position and MAY be extended up to a maximum of FOUR years. For current DOI employees this MAY be a TEMP PROMOTION or TEMP REASSIGNMENT NTE .The position MAY be converted to a permanent, career or career conditional appointment without further competition as long as all requirements are met.
-Preform daily service on all KBAO equipment to include small engines, boats, fleet vehicles, and heavy equipment.
-Trouble shoot and make repairs or schedule the repair with a outside business.
-Ensure that repairs are made correctly, and records of repairs are completed.
-Preform safety inspections and preventive maintenance on all vehicles, repairs replaces any missing or damaged equipment, while checking or correcting any normal fluid levels, wear parts, lubrication, and vehicle damage.
-Coordinates with all divisions on vehicle/equipment needs and scheduling of servicing to ensure that it is in proper working order when needed or that it is not in use during the service period.
-Building and grounds maintenance of the KBAO compound to include deicing, snow removal, mowing, weed eating, building repair or servicing of building equipment, moving furniture, accommodation of office personnel`s needs, safety inspections of areas and first aid kits, fire extinguishers, AED, maintain SDS records.
-Assist with O&M crew projects.
-Perform water operations and deliveries as directed.
Qualifications

Minimum qualifications for trades and labor positions are determined by evaluation of job elements. You must meet at least 2 points on the screen-out element(s) and obtain an average of at least 2 points on all of the job elements in order to be considered qualified for this position.
Physical Effort - Requires a full range of motion including standing, stooping, crawling, kneeling, climbing, walking, and working for prolonged periods in uncomfortable or tiring positions. Arm movements may be considerable when using tools. Lifts and carries materials weighing 40-50 pounds, and occasionally, heavier loads with assistance. May work from ladders in other hard to reach places.
Working Conditions - The work is performed both inside and outside. Vehicle servicing is typically performed inside in areas that may be dirty, oily, greasy, and where there is constant exposure to minor cuts, bruises and burns. Works outdoors and at low temperatures in winter. Performs some driving under various weather and traffic conditions on Federal, state, county, and city streets. Must exercise
care in lifting and moving materials and equipment, and in working close to water on irregular ground surfaces concealed by weeds and debris. Works with power machinery, household cleaning compounds and some industrial strength chemicals. In winter, walks on snow-slippery surfaces and operates snow removal equipment.

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Time-In-Grade: Current career or career-conditional employees of the Federal government, or former career or career-conditional employees, who have a break in service of less than one year, are required to meet the time-in-grade restriction of one year of Federal experience at the next lower-grade, with few exceptions outlined in 5 CFR 300.603(b). Applicants eligible under the Land Management Workforce Flexibility Act (LMWFA) are not required to meet time-in-grade restrictions in order to be considered.
