Duties
Serves as the primary project field office employee responsible for providing the Resource Manager and clerical support in the areas of budgeting, purchasing, Corps of Engineers Financial Management System (CEFMS) and other project office operations.
Represents USACE while receiving tens of thousands of annual public visitors at the William B. Hoyt II Visitor Center.
Assists the Resource Manager to formulate an annual budget(s), to forecast distribution and usage of fund allocations, and to monitor and adjust budget execution throughout the budget year.
Serves as the primary person responsible for providing administrative and clerical support to the project office. Serves as the point of contact and primary source of information for administrative processing.
Ensures correct public messaging and functionality of web-services.
Serves as the records management coordinator for the lake project/area office.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- A qualified typist is required.
- Must possess and maintain a valid State motor vehicle operator's license prior to appointment.
- Utilizes computers and software including Corps-developed software.

Recent graduates who have completed, within the previous two years, a qualifying associates, bachelors, masters, professional, doctorate, vocational or technical degree or certificate from a qualifying educational institution. Short-term training programs (e.g. several two-week programs completed) are not considered an academic course of study.
Current students who will graduate no later than 5 months.
Preference eligible veterans who were precluded from applying due to their military service obligation begin their two-year eligibility period upon release or discharge from active duty. Eligibility for these veterans cannot exceed six years after degree or certificate completion
After Program completion, Department of the Army Recent Graduates MAY be converted to a permanent position.To be eligible for conversion to a permanent, Recent Graduates must:

Successfully complete all the requirements of the Recent Graduate Program as defined in the Agency Participant Agreement.
Demonstrate successful job performance.
Meet the Office of Personnel Management qualification standard including any applicable positive education requirements and/or selection placement factors and any other designated special qualifications requirements and conditions of employment (e.g. medical standards) appropriate for the position to which being converted.

Basic Requirement: Administrative Office Assistant (OA)
Specialized experience: One Year of Specialized experience which includes 1) Receiving high-volumes of public visitors both in-person and via phone, and interpreting and communicating organizational concepts or programs; 2) Managing organizational pay-roll, developing budget estimates for labor, supplies and materials; 3) Managing digital databases, inputting, retrieving, and presenting financial, biological, and technical engineering data; 4) Maintaining office records using a standardized record keeping system; and 5) Administering service contracts, tracking, verifying, and paying contractors for services rendered. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-5).

Successfully completed four years of education above the high school level obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.)

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-05).
