About the Position: This position is located at Blanchfield Army Community Hospital (ACH), Fort Campbell, TN, within the Directorate of Resource Management, Logistics Systems Analyst Department. Normal duty hours are 0730-1600 Monday-Friday. Incumbent will evaluate, install, and maintain medical electronic equipment and systems utilized within the Medical Treatment Facility (MTF).
Duties
Perform maintenance tasks including Initial inspection, preventive maintenance, calibration, and repair of general medical and dental equipment (patient monitoring systems, patient beds/tables, treatment devices, thermometers, and dental equipment).
Inspect new patient care equipment (PCE) to ensure compliance with standards.
Install medical equipment and systems to meet the mission of the medical treatment facility (MTF).
Maintain equipment and systems as needed throughout their lifecycle.
Advise clinical staff on technical issues with current equipment and/or equipment selection prior to purchase.
Requirements

- This position requires incumbent to possess and maintain a valid state driver's license to operate government vehicles.
- This position may require incumbent to obtain a military/commercial driver's license for heavy or special purpose vehicles.
- This position may require incumbent to lift materials weighing up to 60 pounds.
- This position has been designated Mission Essential. In the event of severe weather conditions or other such emergency type situations, the
incumbent is required to report to work or remain at work as scheduled to support mission operations

Qualifications

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience and/or education requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes installing, maintaining, and repairing biomedical equipment used in the treatment of patients; performing preventative maintenance procedures on medical electronic equipment; maintaining medical equipment inventory in a database; providing guidance on purchasing the correct medical equipment. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-08).

Education: Two full years of graduate level education or a Master's degree in a field directly related to the work of the position, such as Biomedical Engineering, Biomedical Maintenance or Biomedical Equipment Technology. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts)
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages.
