About the Position: This position is located within the Education and Training Directorate (J7), Logistics and Facilities Branch, JBSA-Fort Sam Houston, Texas.
Duties
Assist in executing the forward log/customer support functions, to include assessing/managing accountability of inventory and execution of efficient warehousing operations.
Responsible for stock received, stored, selected, and issued; from delivery to issue line(s).
Support a variety of warehousing/forward customer support duties, to include receiving, storing, issuing, inventory control, suspending defective items, classifying condition codes, management of supply turn-ins, etc.
Perform scheduled/frequent spot checks on log inventory and forward log areas to assure proper storage, accountability and accuracy of records.
Determine and maintain an active storage plan, develops/revises; storage location, days of stock, palletizes, and assembles stock in forward and log storage areas.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Must be able to pass a basic background check (NACI).
- Due to the heavy lifting requirements, employee must pass a physical exam.

Basic Requirements for Supply Technician GS-2005-07:
Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes maintaining accurate inventory/property book records of standard or non-standard supply or equipment items; ensuring all items requested for purchase are authorized and in accordance with published guidelines regarding property accountability; and participating in inventory process (such as conducting investigations to determine cause of inventory discrepancies, documenting and reconciling discrepancies). This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06).
OR
Education: One full year of graduate level education in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as Supply Chain Management or Logistics Management.
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) by 18. Add the two percentages.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-06).
