You will serve as a Purchasing Agent in the Procurement Division of NAVAIRWARCENADLKE. This announcement uses the Certain Personnel of the DoD direct hire authority to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.

Duties

You will receive criteria from customers to research and prepare requisitions for services, hardware purchases, maintenance contracts, and equipment repair requirements to support various Command customers. You will research, evaluate and determine validity of customer requests and determines the most effective methods for planning, directing, coordinating and executing the purchase. You will prepare and develop requisitions, reports, and other related documents. You will analyze the data to determine the best value and quality product for the customer.

  • You will be required to complete ethics orientation within three months of appointment and submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, OGE-450, within 30 days of appointment.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-04 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Analyzing and researching prices and discounts; 2) Reviewing and processing routine customer requisitions for supplies and services; 3) Using automated systems to input and retrieve related information; and 4) Preparing written documentation to assist with the acquisition of supplies and services. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.

Education

The following education may be substituted for specialized experience:
Successfully completed four years of education above high school level.

This education must have been obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university. One year of full-time academic study is defined as 30 semester hours, 45 quarter hours, or the equivalent in a college or university, or at least 20 hours of classroom instruction per week for approximately 36 weeks in a business, secretarial, or technical school.
