You will serve as a FLEET AND FAMILY SUPPORT CENTER DIRECTOR in the FLEET AND FAMILY READINESS DEPARTMENT of NAVAL STA NT RI.

Duties

You will oversee the evaluation, coordination, and integration of Fleet and Family Support Center services and activities on the installation. You will identify installation needs and concerns and present plans, recommendations, and assistance to influence readiness and retention issues. You will assists commander in preventing, identifying and addressing family readiness challenges in order to retain unit cohesion, operational and family readiness. You will establish and maintain an informal network with on-and off-base human service agencies to establish and deliver services and to promote Fleet and Family Support Center activities and services. You will set employee priorities and plan work for subordinates to be accomplished.

Requirements

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
  • You will be required to complete ethics orientation within three months of appointment and submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, OGE-450, within 30 days of appointment.
  • Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Provides social/human services in accordance with state, federal and municipal human service laws, programs, polices and directives; 2) Assists with the development of support programs in several categories (i.e., Career Support/Retention, Crisis Incident Emergency Management, Counseling and Advocacy Programs, etc.) to help a wide range of families; 3) Assesses program effectiveness to determine the improvement of complex management processes and systems; and 4) Manages use of fund resources for delivery of programs and services provided. Education

Applicants must meet the following positive education qualifications requirements of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualifications Standards Manual:

Successful completion of a behavioral or social science degree, or a degree in a related discipline appropriate to the position being filled.

OR

A combination of education and experience that provided knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field.

OR

Have four years of appropriate experience that demonstrates knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field.
