You will serve as a RESERVE ORDERS ASSISTANT in the Operations/Mobilization Department of NOSC KITSAP.
Duties
You will serve as Reserve Order Writing System (NROWS) order processing subject-matter expert.
You will assists in managing the program, assigning NROWS roles to properly designated Staff and reservists designated as Unit Approvers and Reviewers.
You will verify accuracy of endorsement orders and submits for base pay via appropriate system.
You will assign Defense Travel System (DTS) Administrator (DTA) approves self-registration, creating and updating profiles when required, maintains routing lists, verifies accuracy of travel order information.
You will approve for liquidation approval, or return to reservist to correct identified deficiencies.
You will originate correspondence and report.
You will assist with the administration of the Government Travel Charge Card Program through activating and deactivating accounts, processing and submitting applications in accordance with instruction and policy.
Requirements
- Must be a US Citizen.
- Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
- Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

- Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.

- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- This position is eligible for part time, substantial or ad-hoc telework at the discretion of management.
- Drill weekend work is required.
- Work required to successfully completed Navy Reserve Order Writing System/Reserve Defense Travel System course within six months of employment.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-5 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
Applying laws, rules, regulations, procedures, and precedents governing Navy Reserve personnel, reserve training and Joint Travel Regulations.
Planning, organizing work, and meeting deadlines.
Providing advice, training and assisting management in search of sound solutions to problems in support of training services.
