You will serve as a MARINE MACHINERY MECHANIC SUPERVISOR II in the Mechanical Shop 930, Production Resources Department of PEARL HARBOR NSY AND IMF.

Duties

You will direct and supervise day-to-day work operations of marine trade work groups in the conversion, repair, and overhaul of both submarines and surface crafts as well as assigned non-ship work. You will review work assignments, plan and organize operations, and distribute work breakdown plans to subordinate groups. You will initiate preliminary action to expedite and assure availability of special equipment, materials and outside manpower or services critical to the timely and quality completion of important jobs. You will coordinate plans and discuss with planning personnel regarding materials and manpower requirements and limits. You will communicate and support Equal Employment Opportunity policies when working with civilian personnel to ensure equality amongst subordinates.

Requirements

  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.
  • You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
  • Work is performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present (e.g. fumes, dust, heat, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation and chemicals). You will be required to participate in medical surveillance programs.
