This position serves as a Supervisory Aviation Safety Inspector who will assist the Manager in a Flight Standards organization. The position reports to the applicable Manager of the assigned organization and will execute the Agency’s aviation safety mission,communicate and build change coalitions, seek out opportunities to support change across the organization, and employ best practicesfor sponsoring change and manage resistance.

Duties

The Assistant Manager is responsible for aviation safety activities in a complex and dynamic environment that includes experience in one or more of the following specialties: Operations, Avionics, Maintenance, Dispatch, Rotorcraft and Cabin Safety. Applies an advanced knowledge of the technical aspects of the work directed and ensures the promotion of the highest level of safety compliance with regulatory standards while utilizing transparency of data exchange that includes the identification of hazards and management of risk.

Requirements

  • US Citizenship is required.
  • Selective Service Registration is required for males born after 12/31/1959.
  • Must submit an SF50 (See Required Documents)
  • Interviews may be conducted.
  • A one-year supervisor/managerial probationary period may be required.

Qualifications

General Requirements for All Positions:Not more than two separate incidents involving Federal aviation regulations violations in the last 5 years;Valid State driver's license;Fluency in the English language;No chemical dependencies or drug abuse that could interfere with job performance; andHigh school diploma or equivalenMedical Requirements for All Positions:Applicants must be physically able to perform the duties of the Aviation Safety Inspector position in a safe and efficient manner, with or without a reasonable accommodation. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position.
