Duties
Typical work assignments include:
Coordinate federal interagency cyber incident response, handling, requests for technical assistance, and reports.Define and manage IT and/or cybersecurity related programs and projects to include program initiatives and activities and cybersecurity awareness.
Consult with stakeholders to evaluate functional cybersecurity requirements and translate requirements into technical solutions.
Build cybersecurity coalitions amongst the federal interagency to promote information sharing, reduce duplication, and improve the cybersecurity services provided by federal agencies.
Provide situational awareness and cyber incident coordination and mitigation assistance to federal cyber officials in support of stakeholders.
Analyze cyber threat intelligence from multiple sources to advise federal cyber officials on courses of action to reduce cyber vulnerabilities.
Notify private and public sector stakeholders of potential cyber vulnerabilities and provide guidance on options to mitigate.
Present findings of cyber incidents and analyses to senior federal official.
Participate as a presenter in regional seminars, symposia, and meetings relating to cybersecurity.
Qualifications
To be considered minimally qualified for this position, you must demonstrate that you have the required experience for the respective grade level in which you are applying:

BASIC REQUIREMENTS:
You must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below:

Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately.
Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations.
IN ADDITION TO MEETING THE BASIC REQUIREMENTS ABOVE, YOU MUST ALSO MEET THE FOLLOWING MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:GS-13. You qualify for the GS-13 grade level if you have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the GS-12 grade level (or equivalent) performing the following duties:
Providing oversight of multiple IT projects to include benefits management, life cycle management, and program governance.
Applying IT cybersecurity program management and project management principles and techniques; AND
Offering routine policy guidance to cyber management, staff, and users.
National Service Experience (i.e., volunteer experience): Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
