You will serve as a DEPUTY DIRECTOR FOR RESOURCES,REQUIREMENTS, AND ASSESSMENTS - N8D in the Resources, Requirements, and Assessments (N8) of NAVAL SPECIAL WARFARE GROUP EIGHT.

Duties

You will act as the lead NSW proponent for programming, budgeting, and execution of investment, development, and sustainment resources for NSW Undersea, ISR, and Advance Communication Programs. You will supervise subordinate planners and designated coordinators for mission and program areas. You will collect recommendations for increased capabilities and conducts detailed mission analysis to determine need. You will monitor technology development. You will develop POM input and be responsible for the submission of POM planning documents, Alternate POM documents, and Program Review and Quadrennial Defense Review (QDR) planning documents. You will represent the command at meetings, conferences, boards, symposiums, and operational force visits.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final TOP SECRET SCI security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position is covered under the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA). Certification in the Acquisition Functional Area and category assigned to the position is required within established category time frames.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
  • You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • You will be required to complete ethics orientation within three months of appointment and submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, OGE-450, within 30 days of appointment.
  • Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.
  • This position is subject to random counterintelligence scope polygraph examinations.
  • This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-13 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: assessing operational need for new capabilities and developing supporting operational requirements documents; AND translating requirements into sound acquisition and programming strategy.
