About the Position: This position supports the mission of the DHA J-1 Enterprise Administration and System Integration, Publication Systems Branch, and is located in Falls Church, VA. Recruitment or relocation incentives may be authorized for highly qualified candidates. Salary negotiation may be available for those highly qualified candidates who are new to Federal service. Student loan repayment may be authorized.

Duties

Serve as the executive correspondence/management focus for the DHA. Manage the flow of executive correspondence, action documents, and other forms of written communication to and from the DHA, Markets and/or Networks, Military Treatment Facilities (MTF) and Dental Treatment Facilities (DTF). Maintain close working relationships with the DHA program staff, DHA senior staff, and DHA staff within the immediate DHA enterprise, to facilitate progress in the development of information items involving both existing and evolving issues. Anticipate and respond to widely varying, complex, technical and/or scientific information needs of DHA by facilitating and coordinating the development of various documents, including memoranda, letters, reports, and briefing materials. Review incoming correspondence addressed to the DHA; determine appropriate responding office/official and deadlines. Track and monitor progress of the development of appropriate responses/actions for controlled correspondence. Analyze documents to ensure necessary review/clearance of DHA program offices or DHA senior staff. Recognize potential factual or policy conflict and take action to resolve differences with the office or staff involved. Identify issues that should be expended and facilitate the incorporation of new or revised information into the final product based on knowledge of DHA policy. Expedite sensitive documents and critical issues which must be addressed in a restricted or confidential manner.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration ofemployment. A background investigation and credit check are required.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11). You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Administration and ManagementOral CommunicationPlanning and EvaluatingWriting Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a non-temporary General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11).
