Duties
This role is the primary representative of the District Commander in active liaison with respective State officials regarding boating safety issues, and with other enforcement administrators and boating safety-oriented organizations. Coordinates with District staff, Sectors, and operational units to provide oversight and program direction for the Coast Guard's RBS mission. The incumbent is the principal RBS and Boating under the Influence (BUI) advisor to the District Commander and is responsible for the overall administration of the District's recreational boating program, Boating Under the Influence (BUI) program, Law Enforcement [Boating Safety] and carrying out program function.Being a Coast Guard civilian makes you a valuable member of the Coast Guard team. - This position requires a National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI).

Qualifications
At the GS-13 level: Applicants must have one-year specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level in the federal service. Specialized experience includes: serving as a program manager; training support for Coast Guard field units and State/Tribal/local law enforcement; applying extensive knowledge of recreational boating issues, principles, methods, practices, and techniques in developing and applying new approaches to the most difficult and complex problems of recreational boating.
Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work.
