About the position: This position will be assigned to the CapRock Inn on Cannon Air Force Base, Clovis, New Mexico.

Duties

Performs a variety of maintenance, custodial and repair jobs to include simple carpentry, minor tile installations projects and repairs, plumbing, painting, maintenance, repair, and minor construction for the lodging operation. Replaces light bulbs, light fixtures, electrical outlets, light switches, and ceiling fans with light kits, etc. Inspects and performs minor repairs on television sets to include reprogramming of TV's and remotes, refrigerators, stoves, washers, dryers and other electrical equipment and components. Plumbing responsibilities, i.e., unclog drains, toilets, showers, replace rusted above ground pipes and fixtures. Accomplishes electrical work to comply with Air Force regulations and inspections by CD electricians when warranted. Paints indoor and outdoor surfaces and structures, i.e., walls, floors, doors, and door frames. Performs various types of uncomplicated wood work, furniture repair, drapery and blind installation and removal. Replaces broken or torn screens, performs minor repairs on windows and frames. Repairs and performs preventative maintenance on small equipment and appliances to include hand tools, vacuums, irons, shampooers, weed eaters, small lawn mowers, snow blowers, etc. Troubleshoots heating/cooling systems to determine compressor activity and electrical operation. Responsible for the issue, delivery, and movement of various furniture, equipment and supplies ensuring full accountability is maintained. Accomplishes landscaping/grounds keeping tasks to ensure trees, shrubs and plants are watered, pruned and trimmed throughout each season. Ensures debris, leaves, fallen limbs, trash containers are picked up throughout lodging facilities on a daily basis. Uses manual and gas/electric tools i.e. tillers, chain saws, hedgers, clippers, axe, blowers. Ensures grounds remain attractive and professional throughout the season. Ensures snow/ice removal or prevention techniques during winter months. The experience may have been gained in similar or closely related work of the position: for example, experience in carpentry, plumbing, painting, electrical, etc. Must be able to read, write and speak English and communicate effectively. This is a designated drug testing position. The incumbent is subject to random testing for drug use

Education

FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements. You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program.
