About the Position: The Transportation Assistant (Fleet Management) is a member of the Logistics Division. This position supports the mission of Pueblo Chemical Depot (PCD) by managing the service, maintenance, operations, and dispatching of leased and Government-owned vehicles and equipment for the Pueblo Chemical Depot (PCD).
Duties
Manage dispatch program in regards to vehicle coordination, maintenance, drivers and receipt of vehicles to ensure readiness of vehicle fleet.
Provide administrative support such as customer service, file maintenance and written correspondences to support office responsibilities.
Plans, coordinates and document vehicle maintenance records to ensure serviceability.
Track vehicle information such as mileage, usage, service dates and identification numbers to monitor current status of vehicle fleet.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position will be filled as Term position, you must sign an acknowledgement memo.
- This position requires a 1 year trial period.
Qualifications
Position to be filled as a term appointment NTE 2 YEARS. This term appointment may be extended up to a maximum of six years; CANNOT be made permanent without further competition.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience Statement: One year of demonstrated specialized experience which includes,1.)Assisting in the scheduling of vehicles to coordinate maintenance checks; 2.) Inputting requisitions for equipment, supplies and/or services into an automated system to track; AND, 3.) Assisting in the management of the inventory of equipment and supplies for a fleet of vehicles to track available resources. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06).

Education: One full year of graduate level education in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as Accounting, Finance or Business Administration.
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) by 18. Add the two percentages.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-06).
