Serves as an Equal Opportunity Assistant in Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) office. Performs various duties of administrative, clerical, and technical support for the overall EEO program, to include inquiries into alleged discrimination; preparation of actions associated with pre-complaints, formal complaints, investigations, and hearings; text for briefings and training; affirmative employment and special emphasis programs.
Selection may be made at the GS-5 or GS-06 grade level.
Duties
Prepare actions associated with pre-complaints, formal complaints, investigations, and hearings.
Prepare special one-time or recurring reports.
Update and maintain the office filing system
Schedule and provide the logistical support for investigations and hearings.
Collects, compiles, records, and updates workforce statistics.
Requirements

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). Qualifications Requirements for the GS 05:
Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes include 1.) receive and respond to office visitors/telephone inquiries, 2.) extract, import, and update information in various electronic systems, and/or 3.) prepare special one-time or recurring reports. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-04).
OR
Education: Four years of education above the high school level obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university.
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of education beyond two years (total semester hours minus 60) by 60. Add the two percentages.
Qualifications Requirements for the GS 06:
Specialized Experience: One-year specialized experience equivalent to the GS-05 grade level in the Federal service which includes 1.) Enter and maintain data in various systems, research and compiling information for projects, and compose/review reports, charts, or other visual aids, 2.) obtain statistic data for reports, providing customer service, schedule meetings, analyze data and provide solutions or recommendations 3.) and/or write/review reports as requested.
This position requires a typing proficiency of at least 40 words per minute (WPM) based on a 5 minute sample with 3 or fewer errors.

GS-05 Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-04).
GS-06 Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-05).
