THIS IS AN AIR FORCE NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for a TITLE 32 ORDNANCE EQUIPMENT MECHANIC (MI 127th MXS), Position Description Number D2575000 and is part of the MI 127 Wing, Michigan Air National Guard.

Duties

***THIS IS AN AIR NATIONAL GUARD EXPECTED SERVICE POSITION*** This position is located in an Air National Guard, Combat Air Force (CAF) Wing, Maintenance Group, Maintenance Squadron, Munitions Flight. The purpose of this position is to provide munitions support to the state and designated agencies in support of their taskings. This dual status technician position requires military membership. MAJOR DUTIES: 1. Production Section is comprised of Precision Guided Munitions (PGM), Conventional Maintenance, Line-Delivery and Munitions Support Equipment Elements. Assembles/Disassembles, adjust configuration, performs maintenance/test & repair, handles and transports ammunition, rockets, unguided and guided weapons and countermeasures, demolition material, and other types of conventional ordnance such as 40MM, Cluster Bomb Units (CBU), Guided Bomb Units (GBU), general purpose bombs, aircraft canon ammunition, missile systems, decoys, countermeasures to include LUU series flares and dispensers for loading on aircraft based on Unit Committed Munitions List (UCML) and Wings training requirements. 2. Materiel Section is comprised of Operations, Inspections and Stockpile Management Elements. Manages allocations, stock levels, inventories, requisitions, and disposition of munitions. Validates, maintains, and provides security of accountable/auditable records. Ensures segregation of duties is maintained both physically and within the accountable property system of record (APSR). Manages excess munitions program. Coordinates scheduling of complete, custody, special munitions inventories and compiles inventory adjustment packages as required. 3. The Systems Section is comprised of Munitions Control, Combat Plans, Mobility & Training and Plans & Scheduling Elements. Coordinates with munitions elements, weapons expediter, flight-line expediter, maintenance activities, and base support agencies to ensure effective flow of information, scheduling, and use of available resources. Reports statuses for the Nuclear Certified Equipment Program. Directs, coordinates, and monitors scheduled and unscheduled munitions maintenance operations in the appropriate automated system. Collects information on the status of all explosives operations, makes proper notifications, and directs actions to be taken in response to emergency and contingency actions. Develops, maintains, coordinates, and integrates Emergency Action Checklists with outside agencies. Manages keys and high security lock program. 4. Maintains hazardous waste and material according to applicable directives. Coordinates commercial or organic movement hazardous material munitions or related assets through the Traffic Management Office. 5. Requirements

  • This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the Michigan Air National Guard, required prior to the effective date of placement.

Qualifications

Military Grades: E3 - E6 SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Minimum Time Required: 18 Months Experience or training in repairing, rebuilding, modifying, and testing a variety of major sub- assemblies. Experience in diagnosing malfunctions and determining repair in major components consisting of numerous assemblies, interrelated electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic assemblies, and components. Experience in the use of precision measurement equipment. Experience interpreting and applying a variety of technical manuals and similar published materials. Experience or training servicing and adjusting ordnance equipment, such as cleaning, lubricating, assembling, and disassembling parts. Experience which has demonstrated the ability to identify and locate troubles by sight. Experience in the use of common hand tools. Experience showing the ability to follow written instruction.
