About the Position: This position is in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). Employees occupying DCIPS positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25. This position is located at the ST-IC-W3U2AA US ARMY FUTURES AND CONCEPTS CENTER.

Duties

Serve as a Security Specialist assigned to the G-2, Futures and Concepts Center, responsible for the aadministering and/or assisting in the enforcement of intelligence-related security programs in accordance with the AR 380 series regulations. Administer Special Compartmented Information (SCI) and Industrial Security programs. Provide assistance to other AR 380 series security programs. Provide facility accreditation support, physical security, access management, and self-inspections ensuring SCI security program compliance is maintained. Assists with the implementation of intelligence policies pertaining to the command-wide multi-discipline security program. Ensure policies and regulations pertaining to SCI and Industrial Secuirty programs are followed throughout the organization and that organization meets or exceeds requirements promulgated by higher authority. Support the command inspection program as it relates to AR 380 series security disciplines.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Two year trial/probationary period may be required.
  • In accordance with Change 3 to AR 600-85, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program, individual must successfully pass a urinalysis screening for illegal drug use prior to appointment and periodically thereafter.
  • Must be willing to undergo and successfully complete a counterintelligence-scope polygraph examination with No Deception Indicated (NDI) on a pre-appointment and periodic basis.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience. To qualify, applicants must have one year or more of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade/level. Specialized experience is defined as experience researching, interpreting and applying security and intelligence technical methods, policies, regulations, and procedures to administer and/or manage a multi-discipline security program to include at least three or more of the following security program disciplines: Information Security (INFOSEC), Industrial Security (INDUSEC), Personnel Security (PERSEC), Physical Security (PHYSEC), Special Access Programs (SAPs), and Special Compartmented Information (SCI). This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level in the federal service (GG/GS-12). Specialized experience is progressively responsible intelligence-related security work directly related to the position being filled. Creditable experience may include previous military experience, experience gained in the private sector or in another government agency as long as it was at a level at least equivalent to the next lower band in the series. Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
