You will serve as a SUPERVISORY PSYCHOLOGIST in the Research and Development Group, Systems Engineering Dept, System Safety Engineering Div, Human Systems Integration Br of NAVAIRWARCENWPNDIV CHINA LAKE.

Duties

You will utilize creative interface design techniques to ensure adequate application of user requirements to promote efficiency and improve human performance. You will prepare comprehensive technical reports incorporating explanations of findings, recommendations, and other technical documentation and analysis. You will provide systems technical expertise to others within the Human Systems Department, NAWCAD and NAVAIRSYSCOM on complex technical problems related to performance characteristics and deficiencies of a wide variety of display interfaces.

  • This position is covered under the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA). Certification in the Acquisition Functional Area and category assigned to the position is required within established category timeframes.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.

Qualifications

In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-9/12) or pay band (NM-03) in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience includes duties related to the following: 1) Performing work related to Human Factors Engineering (HFE) or a related field; 2) Experience pertaining to human factors requirements development, user evaluation, and data analysis; 3) Advising on complex technical problems related to performance characteristics and deficiencies for HFE projects.
