The Central Recording Unit is part of the Courtroom Technology Branch in the Information and Technology Division of the District of Columbia Courts. The primary responsibility of the Central Recording unit is to provide high quality electronic recordings for Superior Court proceedings.  

Duties

Requirements

  • A background and/or security investigation is required.
  • A probationary period of one (1) year must be successfully completed.

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:  A high school diploma plus four (4) years of experience with audio visual and sound engineering equipment, preferably in court or law office. General knowledge of analog and digital recording systems is required. Certification in computer training may substitute for up to one year of experience.If you would like your certificate to be considered for this position, proof must be attached at the time your application is submitted. Applicant must be able to lift at least 100 pounds. The incumbent should be an enthusiastic and engaged professional who enjoys working with a diverse group of Court personnel and customers and lives the DC Courts’ values of Accountability, Excellence, Fairness, Integrity, Respect, and Transparency.Please note that authorization for the release of your adult criminal record revealing any convictions and forfeitures, and any criminal cases currently pending before the courts are required. If you are selected for the position, a criminal history records check will be conducted.  

Education
